Overview
We are seeking a skilled Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing project costs, ensuring that financial aspects are meticulously controlled throughout the lifecycle of construction projects. This position requires a detail-oriented individual with a strong understanding of cost management and the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders.
Duties
- Prepare and maintain accurate cost estimates for construction projects, ensuring all financial aspects are accounted for.
- Monitor project budgets and expenditures, implementing effective cost control measures to prevent overspending.
- Conduct feasibility studies to assess the viability of projects from a financial perspective.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure alignment on project specifications and costs.
- Prepare tender documents and manage the bidding process to secure competitive pricing from suppliers and subcontractors.
- Provide regular reports on financial performance, highlighting any discrepancies or potential issues related to cost management.
- Negotiate contracts and agreements with clients and suppliers to ensure favourable terms for the company.
- Conduct site visits to assess progress and verify that work is being completed in accordance with budgetary constraints.
Skills
- Strong understanding of cost control principles and practices within the construction industry.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
- Proficient in using quantity surveying software and tools for accurate cost estimation and reporting.
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, enabling effective collaboration with diverse teams.
